Falling for Style.

For most of us this is our favorite time of year because we get to layer our favorite patterns.

As the weather stays unpredictable styles can vary in lengths. Fashion trends are all the rave but fashionistas can navigate the fashion landscape and create unique styles for any occasion.

Booties, Pumps and Chukka boots , Blazers and Suits, Scarfs and Ties. The versatility of Fall styling is a testament to the more we layer our clothes the more creative the choices. Burgundy is still the fall choice. Plaids and tuxedo looks are certainly the rave for the gentlemen.

With the colder days looming I try to enjoy the colorful styles of autumn …the unpredictable weather patterns entices us to seek comfort in layered outerwear…tweed, wool, leather, cashmere… overcoats, shawls and wraps are off the racks and on our backs… our favorite designers created fabulous designs for the cold months…fitted or loose (loose is making a comeback) make sure your outerwear enhances your attire.

Leave your coat open to reveal your stylish autumn layers ..Winter will soon have us buttoned, zippered and bundled up… but for now show off those colorful autumn layers…

“Ladies & gents in preparation”

Spring is pushing the envelope and it’s time for us to brighten up our moods. Ladies, I notice all the sandals are flying off the shelves. For those of us who choose not to be way in the sky, (or at least 5 inches off the ground) there are many sandals out there to choose from. Your feet will thank you. Use those sandals to take the long walks now that the temps are cooperating. Save your feet for the evening hours when the wedges and stilethos rule. Oh one thing, nail polish is an eye catcher. I know the gents agree with me. While colors are sexy, make sure you choose wisely my friends. . Not all colors are for “all of us”. If unsure, the classic french always adds that touch of class. ..

Gents, coordinate your apparel to match your partners colors. These days mens’ patterns and colors seem to have no restrictions.

A little spring in your step

Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Dior, Brighton, DSW..Don’t overbuy, for some reason spring transitions into summer quicker than we imagine.

ladies “the preparation”
Summer is in full swing yet fall fashions are starting to appear in my favorite windows. before we jump the gun and start reviewing fall let’s embark on a little more summer. It’s maxi dress and short shorts season. the ladies are doing a great job out there. tip for you still wearing tight clothes in 90 degree weather ..Please please stop. In these temps you want to give your clothes a chance to flow where possible. Tight fitting clothes will not allow the sparse breezes through.

Maxi dresses are always a nice choice for cool comfort at this time..and they’re practical at backyard parties, especially when the bugs attack and the resident pool is just a prop toadmire. Beachside, garden party, summer formals or just relaxing, the maxi is your friend..preferably cotton, crochets, chiffon and silks ..Remember to choose your footwear wisely..Summer heat tends to cause the feet to swell.

Make sure your footwear allows for comfort when taking the long walks..For some insurance, break out the roll up flats..your feet will thank you..

It’s Spring and yet the temps continue to keep us under wraps…all the florals are in full bloom once again.. For most of us who enjoy the seasonal approaches to couture, there is a bit of repetitiveness in styles during this time of the year. Ladies and gents, don’t hesitate to to take stock in your closet. You may find that you already have that special print in your wardrobes…. Hands up !! …how many of you already have the bright colors and floral patterns common at this time. Before you start the impulse to purge and renew, try refitting and altering. Use this opportuinty to update your accessories.

Men look for that new pair of driver shoes and accent with a stately timepiece. Ladies revitalize the pocketbooks you didn’t have a chance to carry last year. Summer has one week before bowing to Autumn. Time to shift the the lighter apparel for your leather treasures. face it, as much as we love the minimalism summer fashions offer, fall is the time to show how well we synchronize our layers.Leather… Leather..leather…we all have, and if you don’t then get going to your favorite store or boutique, that leather pant, skirt, dress, gloves or vest that you can’t wait to test against the gentle chill of autumn mornings and evenings.
Don’t balk at splashing some color this fall. most designers think dark colors represent fall but color is alive and well. Greeen, blue, salmon, burgundy, red… make these colors enhance your look. Use those leather pieces to silhouette the body you want to put forth…especially after all those summer hours in the gym.
Men don’t forget that ladies dress for themselves …ahem…well in truth they dress for the curious and welcoming glance from a gentleman 9sorry ladies, this I know). Treat the ladies like beautiful gifts, it goes a long way.
